The year 2024 draws to a close!
Darkness reigns supreme. But the countless festive lights everywhere are a sign of hope.
2024 was a particularly chaotic year, even for the gallery! The leaden period of shock during and especially after Corona, intensified and topped by Putin‘s war for 1000 days now, has left a special mark here in Germany. 2024 was and is more than a challenge.
But not just for me! Everyone is groaning and
suffering under the burden. Not only economi-
cally, but also emotionally and mentally, once
you start to reflect on the world chaotic situation.
Even established and experienced democra-
tic societies suddenly lose the cohesion of the
social fabric and allow themselves to be sedu-
ced by demagogues. And criminals suddenly
become presidents, or already are, and want
to mercilessly impose their autocratic set of
rules.
And culture and art? They are going down the
drain. We can see that here in Berlin. Those
who are actually allied with it by virtue of their
office are becoming its traitors. Art and cul-
ture suddenly become a masquerade again.
This is the best place to cut back. How stupid!
Hence my offer to you in this gloom. May art – perhaps soon your art ? – may it bring light into the darkness!
